Mountain Beavers, genetically "prehistoric" and native to the Pacific Northwest, can potentially create immense erosion issues. Their burrows/tunnels can be as wide as 7-10" and are a hazard to the safety of humans and/or pets.
They can also cause damage to crops & landscaping.
