Raccoons in your crawlspace?

Raccoons can cause thousands of dollars in damage to a crawlspace. They'll rip apart insulation, cause water leaks, and/or have their young in a "crawl". This can cause flooding, electrical fires, and/or horrible odors. Not something you want happening on your property.

One of the easiest ways to know you have Raccoons living in your crawlspace in the Seattle area is by hearing loud noises during the night. Raccoons are nocturnal so they do most of their moving during times between sunset and sunrise. Aside from noises, odors and pets being on high alert are also indications you may have Raccoons that have taken up residence in your home.

A few things that can be done to deter Raccoons from entering your Seattle area home are: making sure all access points are sealed up, motion lights, and/or not leaving garbage or other attractive things around. If these proactive measures are not working and Raccoons are still hanging around, often times trapping is needed to simply remove the pesky critters from your property. This can be done efficiently and humanely using cage traps and bait. A local Seattle (King or Snohomish County) wildlife control company is the best option for having Raccoons trapped, as they usually offer an all inclusive solution; trapping set up, removal, and clean up options.
