Even though they’re technically categorized as a “nocturnal” species, it is not uncommon for them to be spotted in daylight hours. Furthermore, seeing them during the day is not always an indication of them being sick, rabid, etc.
Usually food sources are changing their habits/patterns more than anything else.
Raccoons are highly adaptive and intelligent critters, however this can lead to nuisance issues such as: opening pet doors, gaining access to a wide variety of structures on your property, stealing garbage from bins, and digging up lawns/landscaping.
We only use the most humane methods possible (cage trapping). All non-target critters can be released unharmed (see pic).
